TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • The welfare of participants - human and canine - is paramount. Before your class begins you will be sent details, directions and guidelines for handling your dog.

  • Classes are not designed for dogs who find other dogs difficult. We are unable to offer a refund if, on arrival, it is apparent your dog is not suited to group work. However, our behaviourists work 1-2-1 with many owners whose dogs cannot cope with other dogs/people etc, often with a view to getting them into a class later, so please talk to us about how we can help.

  • Any dog, child or person that persists in behaving in a way that the organisers deem poses a risk to their own safety and/or welfare, or that of other participants, or that of their dog, or another participant's dog, will be asked to leave the course.

  • Unneutered female dogs that come into oestrus (season) during the course must leave the course. We will rebook your bitch onto the next available course following her season.

  • We reserve the right to ask any dog, person or child to leave the course if we feel the activities compromise the welfare of that dog, person or child in any way; for instance, if it appears that a class setting is stressful for the dog.

  • We are unable to offer refunds once the course has started, or within 7 days of the start date of a course, class or workshop.

  • Cancellations that qualify for a refund are subject to a £2.50 admin fee to cover the charges HotDog Training incurs during the booking and refund process.

  • We reserve the right to edit or amend the published schedule of events or course content to ensure the best experience for all participants.

  • We reserve the right to cancel or postpone any session if weather conditions or venue conditions might compromise the welfare of participants and/or their dogs. We try to inform you of cancellations as early as possible but sudden changes of weather or unexpected events at the venue mean, in very rare circumstances, cancellations may happen up to one hour before the session starts. Cancelled sessions will be rearranged at the earliest possible opportunity and, where possible, we will offer participants a choice of alternative sessions.

  • HotDog Training is committed to safeguarding your data. Please read the following to understand how your personal information will be treated as you make full use of our services.

  • This policy was last updated July 2023 to comply with GDPR. All information is collected on the basis of Contract - that is, the information collected is necessary for us to be able to provide requested classes or consultation services effectively and safely.

  • What personally identifiable information is collected from you?

HotDog Training collects information in one way only from our website - when you fill in the booking form. This information is stored digitally and is shared only with HotDog Training trainers.

  • If you request a 1-2-1 consultation, you may be asked to fill in a form with a significant amount of detail about you, your household and your dog's history or this information will be collected during the consultation. This information is used only in relation to your dog and no other personal data will be requested. You have the right not to answer any question. This information is stored digitally, and will be retained for the lifetime of your dog. This is so we can access your information if, for instance, you request further consultation or training, or have a later query about the recommendations. This information may be shared with external organisations (for instance, the police, animal welfare organisations) if the welfare of your animal, people in your household or other persons are deemed to be at risk. Otherwise the information given is entirely confidential and is only shared with the trainer who attends your consultation unless there is a need to share the data with another HotDog Training trainer, for instance, if you choose to join a class.

Your email address may be used to inform you of classes, workshops or events run by HotDog Training, or of offers by suppliers. These offer will only come direct from HotDog Training and your email address will never be shared to third parties.

  • What cookies are and how they are used?

One of the most common ways for websites to remember your preferences is to use cookies.
These are small pieces of data that live in your browser and mean that you don’t have to
repeat yourself every time you go back to a website. For example, they help search engines to
remember that you want your search results in English and help online shops to remember the
items that you’ve put in your shopping cart. Advertisers can also use cookies to deliver ads
that are more relevant to you.

All modern browsers have tools to help you delete or block cookies from being set. But it’s
important to remember that many sites need cookies to work properly, so by deleting or
blocking them, some parts of these websites might not function correctly.

We use Google Analytics to learn more about our user’s activity. This does not collect specific
information about you. It simply collects information such as page views, what browser you
used, how long you stayed etc. None of this is tracked back to you as an individual user.

    Who is collecting your information?

When you are asked for personal information on the HotDog Training website, you are sharing
that information with HotDog Training. However, some activities will, by their very nature,

  • result in your information being revealed to our website hosting company only for the purpose

  • of supplying the correct information regarding your enquiry.

  • With whom your information may be shared?

Your information will not be shared with any third party without your individual written consent. There

  • are security precautions in place to protect the loss, misuse, or alteration of your information.

  • Unfortunately however, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100%

  • secure. As a result, whilst we strive to protect your personal information, HotDog Training

  • cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or from our online

  • services, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make best

  • efforts to ensure its security on our systems.

What else should you know about your online privacy?

Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information online – for

  • example in ads that you post or through email – that information can be collected and used by
others. In short, if you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you
may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return. Ultimately, you are solely
responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your passwords and/or any account information.
